Are you thinking about renting your property for the first time and don’t know where to start?
This week I will share some tips to help you decide if renting is for you.
Tip # 1.
First you need to decide what type of rental you prefer, by that I mean whether Holiday rental, Short term, Mid term or Long term.
Let me break it down a bit further….
Holiday rentals- These rentals are short stay rentals and usually range anywhere from 3 days to 1 month. In the past these were the most common short term rentals. However due to covid things have changed a lot so that brings me to the next type of rentals.
Short term rentals – These rentals are still considered short stay but usually range from 1 – 3 months. Most clients who want to get away from the cold stay for this period of time, so generally these rentals are in the winter months. (December to March) However other clients who are able to work remotely also choose this option for an extended work vacation.
Mid term rentals – These rentals are a pretty new addition to the rental market especially with the introduction of the welcome stamp and are usually between 3 – 6 months. Clients who choose this option usually can work remotely so choose to do so in warmer country. They choose to have the best of both worlds and work in paradise.
Long term rentals – These rentals usually start at 6 months and go to a year or beyond. With the introduction of the welcome stamp program foreign nationals choose this option, however we mustn’t forget the locals who also need places to live. So this option caters to both locals and foreign nationals.
Choosing the option that best suits you can be a tough choice but over the next few weeks I will discuss ways to help you decide.
